Led by Grace Blackmer, a 5th-degree black belt with over 19 years of experience in Songahm Taekwondo, our programs empower students of all ages to overcome obstacles, develop valuable life skills, and embrace martial arts as a lifelong journey.

General Questions

What age groups do you serve?

We welcome students from ages 3 to 80! Our programs are designed for individuals of all abilities, focusing on mobility, strength, and personal growth, making martial arts accessible to everyone.

Can I try a class before signing up?

Absolutely! We offer a free trial class so you can experience our training before making a commitment. Contact us to schedule your trial today.

Can spectators watch students participating in classes?

Yes! We offer bench seating around the perimeter of the dojang and warmly welcome parents and family members who’d like to observe. We just ask that spectators quietly follow dojang etiquette and avoid disrupting the class or instruction.

Programs & Curriculum

What styles of martial arts do you teach?

We primarily teach Songahm Taekwondo, incorporating a well-rounded curriculum that includes self-defense, sparring, weapons training, and leadership development.

What life skills do you incorporate into training?

Our curriculum focuses on teaching six essential life skills throughout the year:

  • Discipline

  • Belief

  • Communication

  • Honesty

  • Self-Esteem

  • Respect

    These life skills are integrated into physical training and reinforced through fun challenges that encourage positive behavior both in and out of the dojang.

How often should I attend classes?

For steady progress, we recommend attending at least two classes per week. Consistency is key to growth!

Membership & Policies

How much does it cost to join?

Pricing varies depending on the program and membership type. Please contact us for detailed rates specific to your needs.

Do you offer family discounts?

Yes! We offer discounts for families enrolling multiple members. Reach out to us for more information.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 30 days notice for membership cancellations. If notice is not given, the following month's membership fee will be charged.

Belt Testing & Progression

How long does it take to earn a black belt?

Progression varies for each student, but on average, it takes about 3-5 years with consistent training to achieve a black belt. Remember, earning a black belt isn’t the end —it’s just the beginning! Martial arts is a lifelong journey of continual growth and self-improvement.

Do you participate in tournaments?

Yes! We encourage students to compete in ATA-sanctioned tournaments, offering a great opportunity to test their skills, challenge themselves, and build confidence.
